Davidson Lands Conservancy – Run for Green

Davidson’s Lands Conservancy’s annual Run for Green is next Saturday, September 20th.  This event includes a 5k, 10k, and half-marathon.

This race is the biggest fundraiser for Davidson Lands Conservancy.  The Davidson Lands Conservancy’s goal is to permanently protect land and provide education to the community about the importance on conserving land.  Besides the race, there are family-friendly activities and booths on the Town Green, while you are waiting on your family member(s) to finish the race.  This is a great family event!

This year’s education focus is on the importance of butterflies and butterfly gardens in the area.

Kay is on the Davidson Lands Conservancy board and chair of the Outreach Committee, “Run for Green is a wonderful opportunity for the community to experience all of the beautiful greenway and natural spaces that have been protected in Davidson.  The goal of the Davidson Lands Conservancy is to preserve ecologically valuable lands, diverse wildlife habitat, sustain water & air quality, and maintain open space – for those to enjoy for generations to come.”
